Project Management at Purdue
During my junior year at Purdue, I joined Project Management at Purdue, a club dedicated to helping students enhance their project management skills through collaboration with peers and external partners. As a member, I served as Project Manager, Team Member, and for the 2024 calendar year Social Media Chair. These roles allowed me to develop my leadership, teamwork, and adaptability skills. I also gained a thorough understanding of the project management pipeline and honed my presentation skills by getting to present to my peers, professors and industry professionals.
At Project Management at Purdue (PMP), we work on two cases per semester, dedicating about a month to creating a slide deck to present our solutions. These slide decks typically include:
-
A pitch
-
Work schedule breakdown or Gantt chart
-
Market research
-
Marketing plan
-
Financials

I have participated in two new product development cases: one as the Project Manager for developing a new product for Purdue's University Bookstore and another as a team member developing a new product for PepsiCo.
As a Project Manager, my duties included:
-
Delegating case-specific tasks to team members and myself, based on individual interests and enthusiasm
-
Setting deadlines for different phases of the project
-
Checking in with team members and providing assistance with any issues
-
Updating absent team members on what they missed in meetings and their new tasks/goals
We successfully presented our new product to a panel of judges comprising Purdue's Daniel School of Business professors and members of PMP's executive board.
